Your First Visit

Your first visit with us is designed to get an overall picture of your current health status in order to be safe and thorough with you.  When you arrive on your first visit, you will be greeted by one of our friendly assistants who will ask you to complete some information on your health history and current lifestyle.

Your Health StatusOnce you have completed your questionnaire, the Chiropractor will be ready to see you for your consultation.

At Peak Potential, we pride ourselves on running on time, so expect to be seen at your scheduled appointment time.

The Chiropractor will then complete a thorough health history with you, asking questions about any specific complaint you may have, as well as questions about your overall current health status. Following your history, the Chiropractor will complete an examination of your spine and nervous system. The chiropractor will check your posture, examine the way that your spine moves, perform any orthopaedic and neurological testing that is required, and feel you spine, and surrounding muscles for the presence of imbalance or subluxation.

At the conclusion of your examination the chiropractor may wish to have some x-rays taken of your spine. Rest assured that we will take only the required views, and if you have had x-rays taken recently you may not need to have any taken at all.. The chiropractor will take your x-rays on site.

In some cases care may begin at the end of the first visit and in others your chiropractor may require more time to perform further examinations, diagnostic tests or to study your case more fully before care can begin safely. In most cases after your initial consultation, the chiropractor will take their time carefully reviewing your x-rays and comparing them with the results from your initial examinations. These results will then be presented to you on your next visit. Should yours be a case where chiropractic care is likely to be of significant benefit to you a recommendation to begin care will be made at the completion of the second visit.
